Communication Champion Training
Online Training
Anyone can access this free, online speech, language and communication training written by The Communication Trust which includes:

Core modules: understanding speech, language and communication; identification and assessment of need; the communication environment; strategies and support for children with SLCN.

Intermediate modules: attention, listening and understanding; vocabulary and expressive language; speech sounds and involving children with SLCN.
Once accessed, training modules can be completed at any time convenient to the participant.

Hub Training
Offers
Last year, schools and settings attending Hub meetings throughout the city were able to access free training in Signalong, Word Aware, Talk Boost, Autism Awareness and Supporting Children with EAL.

External Training

The Communication Trust have an online short course: An Introduction to Speech, Language and Communication
The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists have developed some free, online training to ‘improve understanding of children and young people who have both mental health needs (or social emotional and mental health needs – SEMH) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN’). It can be accessed here.
