NCC Early Years Local Hubs

As well as attending NNCH meetings, you may wish to join your local hub - book on the Early Years portal

Online Training

 

Anyone can access this free, online speech, language and communication training written by The Communication Trust which includes:

  • Core modules: understanding speech, language and communication; identification and assessment of need; the communication environment; strategies and support for children with SLCN.

  • Intermediate modules: attention, listening and understanding; vocabulary and expressive language; speech sounds and involving children with SLCN.

 

Once accessed, training modules can be completed at any time convenient to the participant.

Hub Training

Offers

We have supported practitioners to access free training in Signalong, Word Aware, Talk Boost and Supporting Children with EAL. 

 

 

External Training

There is a fantastic range of free training on the Just One Norfolk website: speech sounds, phonological awareness, vocabulary, stammering, understanding and early communication.

The Communication Trust have an online short course: An Introduction to Speech, Language and Communication

The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists have developed some free, online training to ‘improve understanding of children and young people who have both mental health needs (or social emotional and mental health needs – SEMH) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN’).  It can be accessed here

Moor House Research & Training Institute

Moor House have a series of webinars on DLD on their website which can be accessed live or as a video recording. 

Cost is £20 per attendee per module, all 7 for £100
